For the THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU Group, and thus for all subsidiaries and employees, success is not only defined economically, but also to a large extent by how that success is achieved. Entrepreneurial success must never come at the expense of our social responsibility, the safety of our employees, or the environment. We therefore expect all employees to comply with all internal rules and all laws; this also applies to our suppliers. Conflicts of interest must be avoided, thereby protecting the Group's assets.
This principle is not only based on the consideration that violations can result in significant business disadvantages such as criminal prosecution, fines, or claims for damages. Rather, we affirm the principle of acting exclusively in a lawful manner, regardless of whether this benefits the THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU Group or not. Legality and Thyssen values take precedence over customer requests or other economic interests.
Occupational safety and health
The THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU Group is committed to the highest standards in occupational safety and health protection. The health and safety of our employees, business partners, and service providers are our top priority. In all our activities across the entire supply chain, we pursue a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any violations of human rights, child labor, and modern slavery.
Integrity
We act with integrity in everything we do. Regardless of where we are or what position we hold within the THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU Group, we act honestly, transparently, and with respect and trust. We expect the same from our suppliers.
Equal opportunity and equal treatment of all employees
We expect all employees to respect the privacy and dignity of others. Psychological and physical violence, coercion, discrimination, and harassment of any kind are not tolerated. We expect the same from our suppliers.
Environmental protection
We are committed to complying with national and international environmental protection standards and strive to minimize environmental impacts and continuously improve environmental protection. Any accidents or operational disruptions must be reported immediately to the responsible authorities in order to avert risks and limit damage. We expect the same from our suppliers.
Zero tolerance for all forms of corruption
We avoid any conflicts of interest that could even give the appearance of inappropriate behavior.
Principle of legality
We comply with laws and internal regulations both domestically and internationally. In the event of suspected or detected violations, internal investigations are initiated and cooperation with authorities takes place where necessary.
Money laundering
We do not participate in money laundering activities. Every employee is required to have unusual financial transactions, including but not limited to those involving cash, which may give rise to suspicion of money laundering, reviewed by the responsible finance or compliance department if in doubt. We expect the same from our suppliers.
Communication
All employees and suppliers are encouraged to express their opinions openly. Those who raise concerns appropriately and in good faith are protected. Reprisals or harassment are not tolerated.
Fair competition
We do not participate in discussions involving bid rigging, price fixing, or market or customer allocation. We never exchange information with competitors regarding prices, pricing strategies, profit margins, sales conditions, production capacities, or participation in tenders.
Freedom of association of employees
We recognize and commit to not favoring or disadvantaging members of employee organizations or trade unions within the framework of their freedom of association.
Property and resources of the company
The intellectual property of our company represents a competitive advantage for the THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU Group and its subsidiaries and is therefore a valuable asset that we protect against unauthorized access by third parties.
Implementation and contacts
The THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU Group actively promotes communication of the corporate policies and agreements underlying the Code of Conduct. Individual companies ensure their implementation and guarantee that no employee suffers disadvantages from complying with these policies or agreements.
